SEO’s number one competitor is the search engine by itself. There are lots of concerns about one of the top search engines (Google) algorithm which they called Google Panda. Since February of 2011, Google spend some time to filter and clean their search results using Google Panda Algorithm that causing headaches to the SEOs. But, even how much Google Panda filters spammy results the so called “Black Hat” SEO techniques finds its way to break or solved the algorithm. The proof of that are their updates, eight times since it was used and another update for this February 2012. The question is will it affect our search results? Those “Black Hat” SEO still works? Those other tactics are still usable?

Even though, Google give some tips how to promote your site to be on the top results. Here are some pros and cons I’ve read from searching about Google Panda.

• Pros “Aim for quality, not quantity”, Cons “Avoid article marketing when link-building”
• Pros “Use on-site link bait to draw extra links”, Cons “Avoid links in guest6 posts that aren’t relevant”

There are still common tactics that are still working, like;

• Link Bait
• High Quality, Relevant Directories
• Sponsor Charities, Contest, Conferences
• Becoming A Resource Or Build Tool
• And of course, linking your site with Social Networking Sites

Sometimes, Google is a headache but realizing that how could we have the right results that we need to be in page 1 if it is overrun from spammy websites. The best way to promote our website is to have quality contents, links, and services. Affordable web design with should not be less quality but an attractive and informative rather than buying templates. This is what clients want to see not just opening a site which has the same designs. They will leave your site rather than browse your services. Because, what they thought they are still browsing in the same site even though isn’t the same Domain name.

Even though Google announces with its new improve algorithm, I have still plenty of cards in hand to reach even in to the top pages. And I think few aren’t a secret. That’s right. Search engines might be that sophisticated as what we think of, but what they like is that a link should be active and informative.
